Blueprint for Crossfire Deaths

In an era where journalism bowed to state and corporate interests, Blueprint of Crossfire by Abu Sufian dares to break ranks. This explosive exposé traces the roots of Bangladesh’s “Jihadi journalism” back to 2004, uncovering the dark parallel rise of RAB and media propaganda. Through the silenced voices of crossfire victims and their families, this book rewrites the narrative—transforming forgotten names into a historic reckoning. A bold departure from embedded storytelling, it marks the resurgence of real journalism.

"Dhormo Joddha"

December 2001. As U.S. airstrikes pounded Afghanistan, a young Bangladeshi man named Mubarak bin Abul Hashem hired a local taxi driver to take him from Kabul to Peshawar. It was a perilous journey, and with him in the vehicle were three other passengers—strangers to him.

Their taxi rolled into a tense town near the Khyber Pass, on the Afghan-Pakistani border. The city was quiet, the atmosphere thick with uncertainty. The land had been shaken by American bombings. They had all survived the war thus far and made it this far, clinging to hope. Relief was visible on everyone’s faces.

It was time for Asr prayer. They all entered a nearby mosque to pray. Mubarak joined them in the congregation.

But that brief stopover—just a short pause on a long road—would change Mubarak’s life forever.
